This image is around 15 years old and the places depicted are closed for many years (see more photos from 2003). Some long time visitors may remember the three clubs shown: Hooters Bar, Niftys and Club Rio. Those were the filthiest places (and the cheapest ones) you could find in Angeles at that time. They were located just a couple of corners east of the Phoenix Hotel. Beers were hardly more expensive than inside a grocery store, but that’s not why koripots found their way here. The establishments, if you could call the shacks that, were known as blowjob bars. There was a seating section in the back where customers could recline in a dusty but comfortable chair with a drink in their hands and their pants down. The hostesses would take care of the rest. It wasn’t hygenic at all, but it was raunchy. Good old times some will say. Yeah, maybe.
